THE INTERNATIONAL ART CENTRE BEREG is the producing center created in 2004 with the support of the Government of St.-Petersburg. Its creation was inspired by such great masters of arts as Anton Adasinsky, Michael Shemjakin, Vyacheslav Polunin.
Art-center BEREG is the young, quickly developing company which has proved to be one of the leading companies in the field of international cultural projects. During the 6 years of work BEREG had lead many festivals and exhibition projects in the city. Two main festivals of BEREG – International Art-festival VERTICAL and International Short and Animation Film Festival OPEN CINEMA – became very popular annual city events supported by the Government of St.-Petersburg.
PHILOSOPHY OF THE CENTRE
The philosophy of the art-center BEREG is based on a dialogue between TRADITION and AVANT-GARDE. We want to stretch the bridge of time between the past and the future in culture. This alchemical formula helps to combine incompatible things in art and receive new "alloy". The "alloy" of archaic national traditions perfection and best phenomena of avant-garde that form new traditions in culture.
“The theme of VERTICAL and OPEN CINEMA that it is not simple displays, demonstration (performance, dance, film) is a certificate with-creativity, with-knowledge, is process of interosculation of the cultures, close to magic. Here there is no competition and prizes, there is no academism and strict rules – projects “BEREG” essentially have free character. Probably, therefore on festivals so many young men come”.

THE CENTRE MISSION
- Realization of the original international cultural projects appropriate to the philosophy of art-center BEREG in St. Petersburg.
- Promotion and support of the contemporary masters of art, forgotten ethnic cultures, brightest art-revolutionaries of avant-garde.
- Creating the atmosphere of involvement of the audience into projects of BEREG. Making people’s attitude for themselves and otside world more positive and free with the help of arts.
